Urgent Appeal for Detainee Z

Detainee Z was recently accused of tampering with his electronic tag and thus breaching the conditions of his bail order. He was arrested on 22nd June and taken to the High Security Prison, HMP Belmarsh, where he is held as a Category A prisoner while he awaits a SIAC (Special Immigration Appeals Commission) hearing on 28th July to challenge that accusation.

Shaykh Raed Salaah, the most prominent Arab political leader from Jerusalem and defender of Masjid Al-Aqsa was arrested in London last night at the request of the Home Secretary Theresa May. He may now be deported.

Cageprisoners is pleased to announce that the well respected journalist and human rights campaigner, Lauren Booth, and former Guantanamo detainee, Sami Al Hajj, have joined the organisation as patrons.

Adel al-Gazzar was held in Guantanamo for almost nine years without trial or charge. in 2010 he was resettled in Zvolen, Slovakia as he was unable to return to his native Egypt. That was before the revolution.
