Farid Hilali

Habib Ignaoua, Ali Chehidi and Muhammad Khemri

Habib fled Tunisia in 1994 after suffering detention and torture at the hands of the Tunisian security services. In the years since then he has been convicted at least three times in his absence by Tunisia’s military courts and sentenced to long terms of imprisonment.

Mahmoud Abu Rideh

Mahmoud Abu Rideh, is a stateless Palestinian who arrived in the UK in 1995 and was granted asylum in 1997 on the basis of being a victim of torture whilst imprisoned in Israel. A married man and father, he was grateful to this country for the rights they afforded him.
