بموجب عراقيل "قانون تفويض الدفاع" الأمريكي... عمر خضر مازال ينتظر الرحيل من معتقل "غوانتانامو" رغم صفقته مع واشنطن
رغم مرور أكثر من عام ونيف على الصفقة التي وقعت بين الحكومة الأمريكية والكندي عمر خضر المعتقل في سجن غوانتانامو، فإن الاتفاق بقي حبرا على ورق، وذلك بعدما اعترف خضر- والذي كان في الخامسة عشر من العمر عندما تم اعتقاله في افغانستان- انه رمى قنبلة ادت الى مقتل جندي أمريكي في "خست" عام 2002، وفي المقابل حصل خضر على حكم مخفف يقضي ببقائه في الاعتقال في جوانتانامو عاما اضافيا، ومن ثم نقله الى كندا ليقضي بقية العقوبة التي تبلغ 8 سنوات
