Communications Bill: web snooping and civil liberties

The incoming coalition government vowed to reverse what it described as the "erosion of civil liberties" and it went on to scrap ID cards.

 

And its Protection of Freedoms Act included an end to fingerprinting children in schools, but the Communications Bill and Terrorism Prevention and Investigation Measures - known as T-Pims - have raised questions about the its record.

Susana Mendonca spoke to two home affairs spokesmen - Julian Huppert for the Liberal Democrat and Conservative Michael Ellis - on where the two parties stand on so-called snooping powers.
