WHY DONATE TO CAGEPRISONERS TODAY?
Since its inception in October 2003, Cageprisoners has become one of the forerunners in work relating to the detentions in the War on Terror.
Since then the website has been established as probably the most informative resource and reference point for journalists, academics, lawyers and families of detainees to help them keep up to date with all the latest developments.
After three years of constant daily updates benefiting hundreds of attorneys representing those being illegally held; Cageprisoners has begun to expand its work to further help this cause.
By conducting research into issues relating to the detainees, the plight of their families, abuses of human rights, and issues of international law, the organisation aims to become a real tool for change for those who would seek to end the cycle of abuse. With information being located in all corners of the Earth, fact finding missions and research will have to be conducted to help piece together the disappearances of the ‘Ghost Detainees’ and to hopefully bring them home to their loved ones.
In order for the work to continue, it is imperative that we receive donations from those kind enough to support our work. The main aims of the funding will be to:
1. Bring together a team of full time employees who will be able to use various skills to help these people.
2. To run donation campaigns for families abroad who are struggling with various problems and have no source of help from anyone.
3. Also for the general administration and advertising costs. Some of our volunteers spend large sums of money on making international phone calls to lawyers and families of detainees. Also advertising our work often comes at great expenditure as well.
Cageprisoners is always thankful for any support that we receive, even if it is just £1 a month, however as always, the most important form of help is that which people can lend to the detainees and their families.
